My 3yr old loves this Fire Station... May 26, 2009 Bladen's Mommy (Memphis, TN) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ok, my son absolutely loves this firestation and the Fire truck that comes with it is so nice. The door on the back opens up along with a little door for some tools and the ladder goes up and down just like a real fire truck. The siren sounds great as well. Then the Fire house itself is just so nice. The ladder goes up and down, the windows open, the doors open, the men can slide down the fire pole, and they have a place to sleep. It's as authentic as you can get for a younger child's toy. We've had this since Christmas last year and my son is still playing with it very regularly.
About the price on Amazon: The firestation that we purchased said on the box, that it was a Toys R Us exclusive. So, the seller on Amazon may just be trying to take advantage of it being exclusive to one store. If Amazon were able to sell it as a store, I think there price would at least be close to Toys R Us' or even beat it. Individual sellers on Amazon can ask whatever they want for their item no matter how ridiculous it may seam. I don't agree with it, but I just wanted to, I guess defend Amazon a little. When it is actually sold by Amazon and the price is ridiculous, blame them. Otherwise, I think it's just this individual seller that is guilty. I hope this review helps=)
One of the better fire truck toys out there December 5, 2008 S. C. Murphy (San Jose, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I agree with the other posters that Amazon's price is way out of whack with reality. We got our son this set for his second birthday at Toys-R-Us and it cost $40. Something is clearly wrong with their pricing on this item.
That being said, this review is about the quality of the product and this is one of the best fire truck toys out there. My son is obsessed with firetrucks and we wanted to get him one for his birthday. I searched online, as well evaluating at a few stores, this one is one of the most durable sets I found. While it does not look like the fire trucks in our neighborhood, looks more like an airport fire truck, my son LOVES it! It lights up and the siren is spot on to the point where I sometimes wonder if a real truck is coming down the street when I hear it from the other room. My son is a little young for the action figures and accessories, but this is by far his favorite toy and it has handled his rough play. I highly recommend it. Just purchase it somewhere else until Amazon fixes the price.
My 3 year old LOVES this toy! December 15, 2009 Busy Momma 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son received this for his birthday and has been playing with it non stop ever since. I think it is perfect for a child about his age -- not too many small pieces to lose, there are things to open/pull down/etc and it is DURABLE. The fire truck is his favorite part of the set with its siren and many realistic parts. We paid 39 dollars at Toys R US, so you definitely DO NOT want to buy it here for over 80.
Great Toy! August 5, 2010 twinmom 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wish they made toys like this when I was a kid. We bought this for our twin boys' 3rd birthday, and they absolutely LOVE it. They play with this toy every single day and they love to be able to close it up and carry it around the house and yard to set it up in different places. It is very durable, and all the accessories are just the right scale and size for their hands and dexterity ability. Great toy, lots of fun!
Get Real Amazon! December 6, 2008 K. Heldenbrand (Little Rock, AR) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I love Imaginext toys. My son plays endlessly with the Castle and Pirate Ship. I just bought the Fire Station (less than an hour ago) at ToysRus. Now, I have always found amazon to be cheaper than ToysRus. But the Fire Station, exactly as it appears here, is only $39.99 at ToysRus. Even on the imaginext.com website, it's $44. So why in the world would it be so incredibly expensive here? The $80+ pricetag is insanity.
